an interdisciplinary designer, concepter and coordinator working in the field of design, arts and education recently based in kassel, germany.
through my studies i am trained to create, ideate and to discover. the challenge is to elaborate vague and blurry ideas and to transfer them into a design concept that is communicable and understandable and finally realizes those ideas & concepts into a physical or visual experience. for me, the design practice itself is a process of steady translation, mediation and iteration. every design journey got different (invisible) phases to go through during the process:
the discovery, where i realize there is a challenge and the question comes up of how to approach it. the interpretation, where i learn something and the question comes up of how to interpret it. the ideation, where i realize there is an opportunity and the question comes up of what to create. the experimentation, where an idea clarifies and the questions comes up of how to build it. the evolution, where i try out something and the question comes up of how to evolve it.
my approach in all those phases of designing is to keep the focus on suitable solutions, that are also leading to social, environmental and healthful achievements. i perceive design as a powerful tool, an attitude and a method to unfold a dialogue and the potential for social, cultural and environmental improvement.
